Today in young womens we had a lesson about names, what they mean, and how they are our identites. I was bored, and had nothing else to do, so I thought I would go through and tell everyone what their name means according to internet sources. Sorry if I spelled some names wrong.
1) Paul- latin origin. Meaning "small"
2) Shirley- old english origin. Meaning "bright meadow"
3) Jennifer- welsh origin. Meaning "fair one"
4) Samuel- hebrew origin. Meaning "requested of God."
5) Rachel- hebrew origin. Meaning "ewe, little femaile sheep, innocent" which doesn't fit at all.
6) Sariah- hebrew origin. Meaning "princess of the Lord."
7) Hannah- hebrew origin. Meaning "favored grace"
8) Emma- old french and german origin. Meaning "whole, universal, entire"
9) Julie- old french origin. Meaning "youthful, Jove's child"
10) Ryan- gaelic origin. Meaning "king." Don't get a big head now.
11) Jacob- hebrew origin. Meaning "he who supplants."
12) Kate- greek origin. Meaning "pure"
13) Rebecca- hebrew origin. Meaning "to blind, captivating"
14) Brandon- old english origin. Meaning "broom, gorse hill" Haha, that's random
15) Allison- old german origin. Meaning "noble, exalted"
16) Sydney- old english origin. Meaning "wide meadow"
17) Bryson- old english origin. Meaning "speckled, of Britain"

28) Stephen- greek origin. Meaning "crown, garland" King is to crown as Ryan is to Stephan.

31) Devin- irish origin. Meaning "divine, poet"

Very interesting. You do have to admit that it doesn't get much better than spending a Friday evening lurking around dark streams.
BTW - Doug in modern English means one who is hilarious, stronger than iron, charming, perfect form, beauty, beyond his years in wisdom, the smart one, talented in all aspects (basically the coolest person EVER!)
